Built in 1920 as a playhouse by the real estate developer Charles Toberman and Sid Grauman. In 1941 the theatre was converted from a playhouse to a movie theatre. In 1991, Walt Disney Pictures premiered The Rocketeer movie. The theatre has been used by the Disney Company to premier their movies, including Oz The Great And Powerful on February 14, 2013.
